Log analysis
The problems Tickhound recognises in your server log.
What the log checks find
Tickhound reads logs/latest.log (through the plugin, the panel, or a paste in Quick check) and looks for known problems: lag warnings, plugin errors, memory problems, a full disk, limits, corrupt chunks and database errors. Only the findings are stored, never the log.
Kinds of memory
OutOfMemoryError is not always about the heap. Metaspace is for loaded classes (grows with plugin reloads), direct buffers hold network and chunk data, and native threads need operating system limits. Each has its own fix.
Disk full
“No space left on device” means nothing can be saved. Free space first, then restart.
Open files
Raise the open-files limit to at least 65536, or ask your host. A plugin that never closes files can also cause it.
Corrupt chunks
Restore the region files named in the log from a backup. Fix what caused it: crashes, a full disk or copying the world while the server ran.
Database errors
Check host, port, user and password in the plugin config and that the database accepts this server. Keep the database closed to the internet.
